So many things have been happening to our family in the last year
that can be classified as miracles, that we have been dubbed "THE MIRACLE
FAMILY" by an evangelist friend of ours. Our children have been coming into the
"kingdom" one by one. We have been united with a son after 25 years.
Many diseases have been healed. And, all of this has been done by
the Most High God, the One True Living God, Almighty God, Heavenly Father, Lord of our
lives. There are truly too many miracles to list them all here.
Just in the middle of March, 1999 my husband who had been battling with
shortness of breath for a couple of weeks was hospitalized. We were looking at chest
x-rays which seemed to point out pneumonia. Soon after his
hospitalization, the diagnosis was changed to heart failure. During all of
this we stood on the "Word" of God. Anytime that I started to feel physically
fatigued, I would call one of the prayer partners from our church for backup
on the "Word". God has not given me only the "Word", but also friends
who are grounded in that "Word" to help hold me up in times like that.
Last December we had sent 6 shoeboxes to children in other countries to spread Gods
Love. We all enjoyed wrapping the boxes, and shopping for the articles to put inside. We
enclosed Christmas cards with our name and address so that the teens that received the
boxes could be aware of what part of the world the boxes came from. It was such a blessing
to be able to bless teens from another country with a Christmas gift box full of fun and
necessary items as well as Bibles, manger scene sculptures, and Bible story books. Our
family was aware at the time that we would never know who received the boxes and maybe
never know if the were in fact received in another country or here in the USA. My husband
delivered all the shoeboxes from our city to a pickup point in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This was
the second year that he had taken the boxes.
During our time in the hospital last week, we received three letters from
Ghana, West Africa. One of the letters was from a 14 year old girl who had
received a box with a card in it from us. The letter was very sincere and
quite encouraging. She said that she had become a Christian. She told us
that the thing that she enjoyed the most in the parcel was the "Bedtime Bible
Stories" book. She had no other books to tell her of the Biblical events.
She was very appreciative and touched our hearts with her letter.
The very best part of the letter was when she said that she wanted us to have faith in
God. Wow, she doesnt even know anything about us, and she is encouraging us to have
faith in God. That was enough for me to realize that God not only had given me His Word
and friends that would help me to stay grounded in that Word, but He had actually used a
14 year old girl in Africa to remind me to rely on His faithfulness. What a mighty God we
serve! He is ever faithful to perform that which He has promised in His Word.
Thank You, Father God that you can use any of us at any time without our even having to
know what is going on in anothers life. Praise You, Almighty God!
Your Servant,
Ann Kennon
