If in the Garden of your Heart,
The gates were opened wide
And all the world could look and see
All things inside.Would you be confident enough to display,
Everything that grows?
Or would there be things to hide,
That make your cheeks turn red as rose?Have you grown love, joy, peace, patience,
Hope, and gentleness?
Or have you sown gossip, envy, strife, violence,
Greed, lust, and hopelessness?Have you used your talents,
And imagination well?
Or have you been idle, sloth, or done evil?
Come...do tell. You'll reap what you sow,
In your hidden garden.
And the Lord knows all,
That secretly abides therein. If the Lord walked in,
To see your garden in the mind,
And all the fruits that there do grow,
What would there in He find?
