APOL History The Seed Of Johnathan In August of 1997 Johnathan Samples a good friend of mine help me get started in a web page design / promotional advertising service for local business and non-profit organizations. On Oct. 22 1997 late in the day Johnathan sent an e-mail that read, “Click here and see what I have built.” It was a prayer page he called it “World Wide 24 hour Prayer Page.” I floated in the air; my life changed that day. Dec. 1997 as I sat in front of my computer reading prayer requests on the World Wide 24-hour prayer page my daughter came in and asked me for a credit card. She told me that all of America was doing their Christmas shopping on-line and that I needed to get with the nineties. I told her no and that America should be praying on line. She replied, “What, America Praying On Line, Yea America Praying On Line”, I instantly did a search and found that the name was available. A prayer was said and thus was the start of America Praying On-Line. In
the weeks and months that followed, Johnathan and I prayed for God’s guidance
in growing this ministry. The “Praise Page was added so people everywhere
could give their testimonies of the wonderful things that God had done in their
lives. I knew there were many people across this country and around the world
that would never enter the doors of a church but they would turn on their
computers. We new that the Praise Page would let our visitors know that God was
present and touching the lives of people everywhere. Shortly after the praise
page Johnathan added the Christian Discussion page for Christians to post and
reply questions and answers to special topics in hopes of bring people closer to
Christ. Jan
1998 My wife and I attend a prayer vigil where the guest speaker was Dr. Henry
Blackabye. He shared scripture from Ezekial 22:30 where God was asking who would
stand in the gap for their family. Dr. Blackabye stated that God was looking for
someone to stand in the gap for America, to build up the wall for his or her
nation, someone to watch and pray for it. After
the vigil I spoke with Dr. Blackabye and he asked if the survival of America
depended on my prayer life what would be the outcome. He went on to say that
prayer was not a one way street where we talk to God, that if we listened God
would speak to our hearts. I became more dedicated to reaching America for God, to stand in the gap for this nation that I loved and was watching fall further into moral decay. We put the plan of salvation on the web site for all to read and print out and share with their families. We asked everyone for suggestions, testimonies, Christian articles and Christian links that would help strengthen a person’s prayer life and walk with Christ. In
late 1998 I received an invitation to participate in the National Prayer Summit
in Washington, DC It was three days of prayer for our nation, its leaders and
the world. The dates coincided with the National Prayer Breakfast where the
President, Vice President and other government leaders as well as government
leaders from around the world would come together. This was all taking place as
the impeachment hearings were being held. During one of the prayer times it was
pointed out that Christians are guilty of criticizing and judging our leaders
when we should be praying for their repentance, wisdom and guidance. I thought
to myself, how can we expect our leaders to be any different, they are a
reflection of what we have allowed our society to become and most of us don’t
even pray for them. I was convicted of my own sins toward God, my family, my
church and my country. It was at that time that God dealt with my heart as I
watched the pain and anguish in the faces of our President, First Lady and their
daughter. God burdened my heart to stand in the gap for the American family and
this nation. I knew I was not a Theologian or Bible Scholar, but I knew that God wrote the Book on it and He would train me and use me. I began to delve deeper into God’s word, studying intercessory prayer and praying unceasingly for the family, this nation and our leaders. I prayed for God to guide me and use me. Shortly there after I had the opportunity to take “Masterlife Discipleship Training”. In the beginning I felt intimidated, for there were many who knew much more than I, but I kept clinging to Luke 9:23. God was my pilot through it all for I could never have made it without Him. The class brought me not only closer to God, but closer to my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Just
after the Discipleship Training I, attended the National Prayer Breakfast. It
was there that God revealed that we were to plant
seeds by doing what Jesus did… loving our fellow brothers and sisters,
Christian and Non-Christian alike and to intercede in prayer with Jesus for
every state in America. We know that God keeps His promises and He promised in
II Chronicles 7:14 that if His people, not the world, not the sinners, not the
non-believers, but His people would humble themselves and pray and turn from
their wicked ways, He would heal this land. If not for ourselves then for the
love of our children, our families and the thousands that have died defending
our right to worship God, we must do as God has commanded, for surely America
and our freedoms can not survive if God’s people turn from that
responsibility. God has called me to stand in the gap for all of America.
He has called me to pray with a servants heart, go with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, to plant seeds of honor with actions, to speak of repentance to His
called out ones, to promote the flow of Jesus' honor through out America with an
attitude of gratitude for the world to see. I am currently on mission in America, planting seeds of honor in ever state in America. I ask that you join us in this mission and be part of our mission efforts. I would love to visit you, your church, or your organization and give a testimony of the seeds planted in your state and our Nation. Contact us today. May God bless you, your family, and your ministry. Tommy Goldin |
